Senior Quality Assurance Tester

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Tester to join our team.
The Senior Quality Assurance Tester will lead and execute Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT), System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for Illinois DMV systems. DMV operations involve the integration of multiple platforms handling vehicle registration, driver licensing, financial transactions, and regulatory compliance .
This role will ensure that all systems are functioning as intended, meeting performance benchmarks, and compliant with state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and DMV stakeholders to deliver a smooth and stable system experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for DMV systems.
- Execute FAT, SAT, and UAT for new system implementations and upgrades.
- Ensure DMV systems comply with state and federal regulations.
- Identify, document, and track defects to resolution using industry-standard tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM ).
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend solutions.
- Perform regression testing after defect resolution and system updates.
- Coordinate testing efforts with internal teams and external vendors.
- Document test results and provide detailed reports on system performance and compliance.
Requirements
- 5+ years in software quality assurance testing, with at least 3 years in a government or transportation-related environment.
- Experience with DMV-specific applications and transaction-heavy systems.
- Expertise in testing multi-layered integrated platforms .
Skills & Expertise
- Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman ).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with database queries (SQL) and data validation.
- Familiarity with performance testing and load balancing.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field .
- ISTQB or similar QA certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with state-level government agencies.
- Familiarity with DMV regulatory standards and operational requirements.
Salary Description
$45-$60 per hour
