Sr Exchange Engineer

Location: This role is remote. (with travel to Austin, TX 2-3 times/year)

Salary: $125,000 - $135,000/year

This Exchange Engineer will be completing the following tasks with minimal supervision:

• Exchange Server Management: Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure, including mailbox databases, client access servers, transport servers, and connectors.
• User Management: Create, modify, and remove user mailboxes and distribution groups. Manage mailbox permissions, email addresses, and distribution lists.
• Email Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect against spam, malware, and unauthorized access. Monitor email traffic for potential threats and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
• Email Policies and Compliance : Establish and enforce email policies, retention policies, and archiving procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and data governance.
• Backup and Recovery: Perform regular backups of Exchange databases and implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor Exchange Server performance, analyze bottlenecks, and optimize system resources to ensure optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Patch Management: Keep Exchange Server and related components up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
• Troubleshooting : Investigate and resolve issues related to email delivery, connectivity, and client access. Provide timely support for user-reported problems.
• Collaborate with IT Teams : Work closely with other IT teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security specialists, to ensure smooth integration and operation of the Exchange environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for the Exchange Server infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
• Capacity Planning : Monitor resource utilization trends and plan for future growth and expansion of the Exchange environment.
• User Training: Provide guidance and training to end-users on using Exchange features effectively and securely

What we’re looking for

• At least 8-12+ years of experience in Exchange Systems Administration/Engineering, NOC operations, remote trouble shooting, customer management and other related IT services experience.   

• Strong understanding of O365 Mail flow and interaction between OnPrem and Exchanges

• Must have Experience in Exchange 2013 to 2019 as well as Exchange Online (M365) 

• Strong understanding and experience with ADFS, AADC, and Active Directory
