Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level II Trauma Center, with bariatric and abdominal surgery experience preferred and Epic proficiency required.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 379 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
- Medical Surgical unit (M9) specializing in bariatric surgery, abdominal surgery, and general medical patients
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekends required: approximately 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Floating between units and all facilities within the state is required
- No on-call required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active TX or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Solid navy blue scrubs required for all licensed nursing personnel; print tops are not acceptable
- Free surface parking available in designated Employee/Visitor Parking lots
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Refusal to float between facilities may result in termination of the assignment
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of submission; RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
