Senior Sales Engineer - Telecommunications

Responsibilities:
- Lead technical conversations, translating business requirements into optical network solutions.
- Provide vendor-neutral guidance to identify the best fit for customer needs.
- Design and plan optical networks, including architecture, link budgets, and component selection.
- Collaborate with sales teams to craft winning, technically sound proposals.
- Participate in customer meetings and deliver engaging product demos.
- Support pricing, proposals, and statements of work (SOW).
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging optical technologies.
- Provide occasional lab support and hands-on equipment configuration.
Skills/Must have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in optical networking, ideally in a vendor environment.
- Strong background supporting or selling OEM optical/networking products.
- Confident leader who can control and influence stakeholder discussions.
- Deep knowledge of optical fiber principles, optical network design, and optical components (lasers, WDM, photodetectors, etc.).
- Expertise in Layer 1 protocols (e.g., DWDM, SONET/SDH, ROADM).
- Working knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, EVPN).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, or computer science—or equivalent experience.

Salary:
- Base salary of $140,000
- Up to 40% bonus based on company performance.
