Entry - Mid Level Transportation Planner

When you join us, you’ll support a variety of transportation plans including multi-modal corridor planning studies, feasibility studies, freight plans, safety plans, long-range plans, and other plans/programs. This is your opportunity to work on engaging plans, projects and programs. You will be part of a multi-disciplined, highly skilled, and diverse team of planners, data scientists, GIS professionals, and engineers leading projects around Texas and the US. Motivated Jacobs Planners have opportunities to grow their technical expertise as they tackle complex transportation problems while assisting Jacobs to grow our transportation planning practice.
Here’s what you’ll do:
• Conduct planning studies, stakeholder engagement plans, safety action plans, long range transportation plans, and prepare planning deliverables for:
• multimodal transportation systems
• transit networks
• active transportation networks
• sustainable transportation/traffic development
• emerging mobility and innovative technology
• Prepare needs analysis, alternatives development and evaluation, and short- and long-range strategies supporting agency staff to deliver projects and programs
• Participate actively within the Texas Transportation Planning team

Here's what you'll need
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in planning, policy, engineering or related field
• At least 1 year of experience in a professional setting
• Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Developing skills in ESRI ArcGIS applications, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, and Microsoft office
• Ability to actively participate in diverse teams and contribute to a secure and empowering work environment built on equity and inclusion
• Ability to effectively manage time to deliver tasks accurately and on schedule
• Passion for the transportation industry
Ideally, you may also have:
• Ability to develop into a transportation planner that leads tasks and/or projects
• Familiarity with transportation planning, analysis, and studies
• Familiarity with developing and conveying complex information
• Advanced technical writing abilities
Posted Salary Range: Minimum
66,300.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
130,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $66,300.00 to $130,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
