Job Purpose The Business Relationship Partner within the IT and Digital Services (IDS) department plays an important role in bridging the gap between technology and business objectives. Working within the BRM team this role is responsible for understanding the strategic needs of a given business unit and translating them into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with the departments overall mission and goals. The Business Partner will collaborate closely with business managers and leaders, stakeholders, IDS and Digital teams to shape demand, gather requirements. This role is non operational and requires analytical broad perspective thinking.- Build strong network and relationships within the business, understand the needs and work to gather the requirements and assess the value of initiatives.
- Communicate effectively to ensure the successful implementation of the most valuable investments, recognizing that not all initiatives may proceed.
- Identify technology opportunities and the best-suited position for the technology adoption within the business organization.
- Develop a knowledge of the business unit long-term goals and objectives and build positive relationship development, create awareness within IDS of the business knowledge
- Contribute to the development of IDS and BRM strategies that support business goals and objectives.
- Work closely with enterprise architecture to develop and maintain multi-year technology capability roadmaps to support the business plan and business capability development
- Work closely with PMO to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio.
- Responsible for gathering cost base for initiatives and building high quality and reliable business cases.
- Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure the adoption of initiatives, be actively involved in ensuring the value is measured and recorded.
- Partner with the delivery teams to execute the investment portfolio, focus on business value instead of solutions.
- Work within the business unit BRM team to ensure convergence and partnering with the business partner teams
- Constructively work within the wider IDS team to ensure business knowledge is cascaded to the delivery teams. Promote the value of IDS and engage positively to ensure appropriate recognition.
- Recognized University Degree in IT or technology related subject or proven relevant experience
- Self-motivated with a strong ability to rely on intuition and problem-solving skills to enhance the deliverables of the BRM department.
- 5 years experience within IT / Digital / Technology related discipline
- Excellent awareness of IT market & technology changes. Ideally within the Energy industry.
- Change management facilitation and ability to guide and influence acceptance of new processes and use of technology
- Ability to balance user, stakeholder and technical needs within budgets and demanding timelines
- Business analytical skills (numerical, analytical and critical thinking skills)
- Proficiency in articulating intricate issues in a clear and non-technical manner (written and verbal)
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a LEAN mindset
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a prerequisite, encompassing listening, comprehension, reading, and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Efficient working practices and ability to produce deliverables on schedule
- Previous experience as a Project Manager / Business Analysis would be beneficial but not essential
