Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Review and post customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) accurately and timely
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness and make recommendations or decisions on credit approval
- Establish and adjust customer credit limits based on risk assessment
- Monitor existing accounts for changes in credit risk and apply credit holds across divisions
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts
- Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment terms, and discrepancies
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues in coordination with sales and customer service teams
- Review invoices, statements, and aging reports
- Maintain accurate records of communications and collection activities
- Assist with month-end closing processes and reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Review, verify, and process sales commission statements and communicate with representatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable and/or collections
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with ERP systems preferred
- Salary is dependent upon experience
