Director of Business Development

About the Job:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional who will be largely responsible for revenue generation by driving new business opportunities and prospecting through strategic sales efforts. This individual will handle inbound leads and follow up with potential clients, guiding them through the sales funnel from initial contact to closed business.

The role will also serve as a liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring a clear understanding of client needs and aligning those with the company's service offerings to exceed expectations. Responsibilities include identifying and nurturing strategic relationships with both prospective and existing clients, evaluating and pursuing growth opportunities, and leveraging experience and sound judgment to meet revenue goals.

This role is instrumental in supporting the development and success of the Sales and Marketing team and will be a key contributor to the company's overall growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and development of leads within our client industries and regularly close business resulting in revenue to the company.
  • Create proposals that help close profitable business for the company.
  • Champion the best opportunities and work closely with delivery teams to execute transactions.
  • Work with business teams to ensure completed partnerships and transactions are successfully transitioned to business owners (creative, digital, promo).
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships across the business and teams to help deliver results.
  • Have a thorough understanding of company's strategy, financials, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop a consultative business-to-business sales culture through leadership and coaching.
  • Provide thought leadership and analytical rigor to important business decisions.
  • React quickly to internal and client requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships, understanding their needs and how our services match up with their needs.
  • Coach and develop Client Success Managers (CSMs) to meet sales goals, ensuring high quality output.
  • Prepare and analyze results, report trends, and make recommendations.
  • Manage inbound leads and attend conferences, serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Deliver all client communication in a clear, strategic, and professional manner, providing supporting data analysis.
  • Maintain working knowledge of client business objectives and ensure activities align with these priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in client services or business management.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and sales leadership.
  • Experience in managing P&L, budgets, and substantial transaction experience.
  • Experience in financial services and marketing or properties / property management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct reports currently, but this could change. Dotted line responsibility for coaching and developing sales professionals.
