Manager of Customer Accounting

Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manager of Customer Accounting to oversee all functions within the Sales-to-Collections cycle. This role includes responsibility for Sales Orders, Invoicing, Customer Account Maintenance, Credit & Collections, and more. The position also provides critical support to our National Sales Team, including Territory Managers (TMs) and Divisional Sales Managers (DSMs).
This leadership role ensures process quality control, drives continuous improvement, and supports organizational goals through effective policy implementation and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the Customer Accounting team, ensuring achievement of defined goals.
- Manage administrative tasks and reporting responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Conduct training for internal staff and onboarding for new Territory Managers.
- Provide support for territory transitions and ongoing maintenance.
- Oversee daily operations related to order entry, billing, account maintenance, and collections.
- Handle complex account scenarios including special orders, promotional pricing, product exchanges, returns, and reconciliations.
- Play a key role in compiling and validating monthly sales, commission, and incentive figures.
- Support improvements in operational efficiency and quality control across order processing, sales initiatives, and compensation processes.
- Utilize the Epicor P21 ERP system effectively to optimize performance across the sales cycle.
- Collaborate with IT and Epicor teams to enhance system functionality and support best practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience leading a billing or customer accounting team.
- Demonstrated expertise in order processing, invoicing, and commission reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Microsoft Access is a plus.
- ERP experience required; distribution-related ERP (preferably Epicor) highly preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Strong numerical acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
