Chief Technology Officer

Chief Technology OfficerHRCCU is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide strategic leadership for the Information Technology function. This key executive role is responsible for shaping and executing the credit union’s technology vision, ensuring operational excellence, cybersecurity resilience, and member-centric digital innovation. The CTO will oversee technology across the organization, delivering secure, scalable, and forward-thinking solutions that enhance operational efficiency, support member experience, and drive long-term growth. The CTO serves as the primary technology advisor to the executive team, guiding strategy and investment decisions while balancing innovation with stability, scalability, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, vendor partnerships, and the IT budget. The CTO will lead long-range technology planning, evaluate emerging technologies (including AI, automation, and fintech solutions), and translate technology initiatives into measurable business outcomes.The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technology leadership, cybersecurity expertise, and strategic vision within a regulated financial services environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a forward-looking enterprise technology strategy aligned with the credit union’s strategic plan, growth objectives, and regulatory expectations.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, fintech partnerships, AI tools, and automation to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Lead the enterprise cybersecurity program, governance, and risk management efforts.
- Oversee technology systems, including network infrastructure, cloud environments, endpoint management, and IT support/service desk.
- Collaborate closely with lending, operations, marketing, and other business units to enhance the digital member experience and drive innovation.
- Support the continued development of the credit union’s data warehouse, business intelligence capabilities, enterprise reporting, and dashboards (Power BI or similar).
- Ensure all vendor partnerships align security, compliance, and risk management requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals across infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and digital functions.
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in information technology leadership, preferably within financial services.
- Senior technology leader with extensive experience driving innovation and transformation within highly regulated industries.
- Expertise in enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, data governance, and analytics technologies.
- Understanding of AI, machine learning, and regulatory compliance frameworks, with hands-on risk management experience.
- Proven ability to manage technology budgets, align investments to strategic business objectives, and lead distributed global teams.
- Recognized for exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities, fostering high-performing and results-driven technology organizations.
- Experience in leading and managing analytical, process improvement and automation, and business intelligence.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, credit union and/or retail banking operations
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field. Masters preferred.Required Skills:

- Location: HRCCU Operations Center in Corinth, NY.
- Salary: $110,000-$170,000 based on candidate’s experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills relevant to the position.
