Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM (subject to change based on hospital needs; no holidays, weekends, or after-hours shifts)
Reports To: Registered Medical Technologist

Pay Rate: $35/hr

Position Summary:

The Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures under the direct supervision of a certified medical technologist. This position supports essential lab functions including phlebotomy, specimen processing, and data entry, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages.
• Accurately enter patient and specimen data into the computer system.
• Process, label, and package specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with:
• Joint Commission guidelines
• Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Standards
• Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Rules and Directives
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with laboratory best practices.
• Participate in required training programs and comply with ongoing educational requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
• Minimum of one (1) year full-time phlebotomy experience preferred, but not required
• Valid Texas driver's license (required)
• Immunizations

Additional Information:

• This is a weekday-only position with no weekend, holiday, or after-hours requirements.
• Shift times may be adjusted based on operational needs at the discretion of the Lab Supervisor.
