About the Clinic:
Located in the vibrant community of Katy, TX , Cinco Ranch Veterinary Hospital is a well-established small animal practice with a dedicated team of support staff and experienced DVMs . Our doctors have been with the practice for years and each brings a unique strength to the team —from surgery and internal medicine to behavior and preventive care . We’re proud of our collaborative culture , strong mentorship, and the fun we bring to high-quality patient care.
Externship Experience Includes:
Externs will work closely with our associate veterinarians and team members to gain valuable, real-world experience in:
Taking patient histories and performing physical exams
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
Assisting with (or performing) surgical and dental procedures
Participating in internal medicine, wellness, and behavioral case workups
Practicing communication skills with both clients and the veterinary team
You won’t just shadow—you’ll be actively engaged in the day-to-day clinical work, with mentorship tailored to your interests and experience level .
Program Details:
📍 Location: Katy, TX (Greater Houston area)
🕒 Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4weeks (flexible based on student/hospital schedules)
🎓 Open to: veterinary students
💵 Stipend: Up to $2,000 available for students in the clinical phase
🏥 Practice Focus: Small animal general medicine, surgery, dentistry, behavior
