Failure Analysis Engineer(PE_FAE A Group)-Houston,TX
The main purpose of this position is to analyze product failures, find out the causes of failures, and propose improvement measures, so as to improve product quality and reliability and reduce costs. Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Analyze the causes of failures: Use professional analysis techniques and tools to conduct a comprehensive and in-depth inspection and analysis of failed products, and determine the root causes of product failures, including design defects, material problems, manufacturing process deviations, environmental factors, etc.
- 2. Provide improvement suggestions: Based on the results of failure analysis, put forward specific improvement suggestions and measures to relevant departments such as R&D, production, and quality control. This helps to optimize product design, perfect the production process, and strengthen quality control, so as to prevent similar failure problems from occurring again in subsequent products.
- 3. Improve product quality and reliability: By continuously solving product failure problems, improve the overall quality and reliability of products, enhance the competitiveness of products in the market, reduce the after-sales failure rate and maintenance costs of products, and improve customer satisfaction.
- 4. Accumulate knowledge and experience: Establish a failure analysis case database to accumulate valuable knowledge and experience wealth for the company. This knowledge can be used for training new employees, and it also helps to continuously improve the company's technical level, providing references for the research and development of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products.
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
1+ years of experience in server manufacturing engineering. Working conditions
This role is primarily based in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing facility, requiring daily presence on the production floor to control product yield/quality.
May require occasional weekend hours to support production deadlines, emergency repairs, or project implementations. Skills:
- Failure Analysis Techniques: Be proficient in various failure analysis methods, such as metallographic analysis, electron microscopy analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, etc., and be able to accurately determine the failure modes and causes of products.
- Material Knowledge: Understand the properties, characteristics of various materials and their behaviors in different environments, and be able to analyze material-related failure problems, such as material aging, corrosion, etc.
- Electrical Knowledge: For FA engineers of electronic devices, they need to master circuit principles and knowledge of electronic components, be able to read circuit diagrams, and analyze electrical faults.
- Operation of Analytical Instruments: Be proficient in operating various analytical instruments, such as scanning electron microscopes, energy dispersive spectrometers, spectrometers, etc., to obtain accurate analytical data.
- Office and Professional Software: Be proficient in using office software, such as Excel and Word; master professional drawing software, data statistics software etc.
