Job Opportunity – Emergency Medicine Physician – Texas
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Corpus Christi area, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6a-6p or 6p-6a), single physician coverage, no call required
Highlights:
- One-year assignment across a system of freestanding emergency departments and community hospitals
- Patient volumes ranging from 45 to 80 patients per day depending on site
- Level IV trauma centers with high-acuity cases including STEMI, stroke, OB deliveries, and trauma
- APP support available at each site (9-24 hours per day depending on location)
- Meditech EMR with 2-3 shadow shifts for orientation and onboarding
- Varied patient populations including elderly, rural, and mixed demographics
Requirements:
- Board certification: ABEM preferred; ABFM or ABIM with Emergency Medicine experience accepted for freestanding emergency departments
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine fellowship)
- Proficiency in procedures including intubation, central line placement, ultrasound utilization, OB delivery, dislocation reductions, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair
- Case logs required for credentialing
- Emergency privileges not available
