AR CASH APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST

We’re looking for a detail-obsessed AR & Cash Application Specialist to join our team. This is a temp-to-hire position with a hybrid schedule, perfect for someone who loves to crush their to-do list from the comfort of home and collaborate with the squad in the office. While this role eventually grows into broader AR and collections, your number one mission right now is the "Great Reconciliation." We need a pro who can take a pile of incoming payments and make sure every cent lands exactly where it belongs. Why This Role Hits Different

What You’ll Be Doing (The Main Quests)

• Serve as the primary person accurately applying customer payments and ensuring they are allocated across the right accounts.
• Use your VLOOKUP and Pivot Table superpowers to reconcile balances and post cash receipts.
• Research short-payments and overpayments to see if credits are due.
• Dive into customer portals to figure out deductions and promotional credits.
• The Level Up: As you master the cash, you’ll start managing aging reports and helping us improve our DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).

salary: $23 - $25 per hour

Responsibilities

• Cash Application: Accurately apply customer payments (ACH, Wire, Check) and ensure proper allocation across accounts.
• Cash Posting: Post cash receipts and reconcile outstanding balances within the accounting system.
• Payment Research: Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including researching customer short-payments or overpayments
• Data Maintenance: Maintain and summarize receivables data for reporting and internal analysis.

• Deduction Management: Investigate customer deductions via portals to ensure proper accounting for promotional credits. Aging Management: Generate and manage aging reports to track outstanding balances. Collections Support: Monitor customer payment trends and follow up on delinquent accounts to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) as needed.
• Account Adjustments: Process debit and credit transactions and determine appropriate actions for account write-offs.
