Laborer

Summary

The Concrete General Laborer will be responsible for assisting with site and material cleanup, using tools for basic concrete work, and following all site health and safety regulations. A great attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail and safety protocols are essential to success in this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment.
• Safely operate a variety of tools including jackhammers, drills, saws, etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
• Follow project instructions from foreman or superintendent.
• Perform site clean-up when projects are complete.
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as needed.
• Must be able to travel up to 100% throughout Texas, and occasionally out of state, as needed.
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Great attitude and strong work ethic.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance.
• Must be punctual and reliable (Must have reliable transportation).
• Must have steel-toe boots, long pants, and minimum 4" sleeve on shirt.

Working Conditions

Work involves various types of conditions encountered while working on construction sites.

• Frequently walk, stand, bend, climb, stoop, or kneel. Use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May be required to work in confined spaces. Must have quick reaction time and vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and good depth perception in order to adjust focus, judge distances and space relationships. Potential exposure to loud noise (construction site) and variable weather
  conditions including rain, snow, cold and extreme heat.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
