Cash Application Assistant (Hybrid)

Location: Dallas, TX area | Schedule: Hybrid (1–3 days in-office per week)
Pay: 22/hr.| Hours: 7 AM – 4 PM, 8 AM – 5 PM, or 9 AM – 6 PM

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Cash Application Assistant to support accounts receivable operations in a high-volume environment. This role plays a key part in applying incoming payments, reconciling discrepancies, and supporting internal and external customer inquiries. It’s a hybrid position with 1–3 in-office days per week.

What You’ll Do

• Accurately apply daily lockbox, EFT/ACH, and manual payments to customer accounts

• Research and resolve unapplied cash, credits, and invoice discrepancies

• Reconcile transactions to bank deposits, general ledger, and AR uploads

• Communicate with internal teams and customers to resolve payment issues

• Process adjustments, refunds, write-offs, and return checks

• Assist with unclaimed property tracking and financial month-end close

• Monitor and escalate unresolved issues

• Maintain accurate documentation and records

• Support ongoing AR improvement efforts and team goals

What You Bring

Required:

• High school diploma or GED

• Proficiency in Excel , including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas

• Reliable attendance and accountability

• Ability to work standard business hours (between 7 AM and 6 PM)

• Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills

Preferred:

• 2–4 years of accounts receivable or cash application experience

• Familiarity with lockbox processing and AR software systems

• Understanding of general accounting principles

• Associates degree or accounting coursework a plus
