Job Summary
The Assistant Banking Center Manager is part of the Bank's retail area, and the primary responsibility is to assist the Banking Center Manager with the day-to-day operations of the banking center. This position helps expand customer relationships, attract additional customers, and monitor the growth and profitability of the banking center. Responsible for performing Teller duties and new account duties regularly, providing customer service, including selling additional products to new and existing customers, and supporting the overall sales efforts of the Bank.
In this role, you will:
- Support bank manager to lead sales and service teams to exceed customer satisfaction and business goals.
- Build relationships with bank customers by satisfying their needs through sales of financial services and products.
- Develop banking center schedule and assist with recruitment and performance management functions.
- Responsible for routine operations and ensuring quality standards of the bank.
- Monitor banking center operations in the Banking Center Manager’s absence.
- Create a positive bank image by representing the bank in community events.
- Process loan applications and financial transactions to open accounts and sell banking products.
- Respond to customers on sensitive and complex issues such as product features, statement problems, and service charges.
- Ensure adherence to compliance procedures and security measures while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Create a positive image of the bank and self through professional means.
- Train staff, approve bank transactions, and handle operations, including timecard reviews, evaluation of performance, and job duty coordination
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist customers with requests and/or complaints and research account problems.
- Supervise teller balancing procedures; assist tellers with problems and questions on procedures.
- Order and issue teller cash as needed and balance the vault.
- Audit teller cash drawers regularly.
- Open and close the bank.
- Operate as a Client Services Professional when needed.
- Perform various clerical duties.
- Act as Banking Center Manager in their absence.
- Input daily cash balance/cash variance.
- Open and close safe deposit box accounts.
- Assist with ATM balancing when needed.
- Fulfill other periodic job-related duties assigned by management and not already part of this job description.
Compliance with all bank policies, regulations, and laws applicable to duties and responsibilities.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- College Degree preferred.
- 5 years of prior experience as a teller and new accounts/personal banker.
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- Knowledge of banking laws and compliance regulations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work on Saturdays when required.
- This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This includes computer skills, typing, and ten key skills, as well as utilization of office equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when requested and Saturdays.
- The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and sit/stand for long periods.
