Overview:

The Drill Truck / Pressure Digger Operator is responsible for safely operating a drill truck/pressure digger to install underground utility infrastructure for road construction and utility projects. This position requires advanced skill in operating a 2005 International drill truck/pressure digger and the ability to lead a field crew to complete work efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a 2005 International drill truck/pressure digger for excavation, pole hole drilling, and underground utility installation.
• Lead and supervise a crew on daily job tasks, ensuring safe work practices and adherence to project plans.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily safety inspections of truck, equipment, and attachments.
• Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites using a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)-qualified vehicle.
• Read and interpret blueprints, utility locates, and work orders to ensure accurate and safe digging.
• Coordinate digging, boring, and excavation activities with management and other crews on site.
• Assist in the placement, movement and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• Assist with various tasks on highway construction sites, including but not limited to digging, shoveling, carrying materials and using hand and power tools.

Qualifications:

• Pay is negotiable based on proven experience.
• Must possess and maintain Class-A CDL (no restrictions)
• Must be able to travel.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in underground utilities, drilling and running a crew.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, signal plans, and utility locates.
• Experience working around live traffic and following traffic control plans (TCPs).
• Familiarity with underground construction techniques, including directional drilling, trenching, and conduit systems.

Education:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
• OSHA 10 or 30 is preferred.

• Starting pay of $26 - 30 per hour with the opportunity for overtime (45+ hours weekly). Rate is negotiable depending on relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
