SENIOR MS DYNAMICS FUNCTIONAL CONSULTANT

Duration: 12/1/25 - 12/1/26

Job Type: Remote

Rate: $75/hr. W2. Benefits available

W2 Only – NO C2C

ALTA IT Services is staffing a 12-month+ remote contract opening for a Microsoft Dynamics Functional Consultant to support a US critical power services company. This position is open to W2 contractors only, no C2C. Work must be performed in the continental United States.

The Senior Functional Consultant leads the design and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations solutions that enable clients to modernize and automate their project delivery and financial management processes. You’ll partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable configurations spanning opportunity management, project planning, resourcing, time & expense, billing, and project accounting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Engagement Leadership

· Lead discovery workshops, process analysis, and requirements definition.

· Serve as the primary functional point of contact during the full project lifecycle.

· Solution Design & Configuration

· Configure D365 Project Operations entities: projects, tasks, milestones, cost/revenue profiles, billing rules, and resource management.

· Define integrations with Finance, HR, or external PSA/ERP systems.

· Develop functional design documents, test scripts, and user stories.

· Implementation & Enablement

· Support data migration, testing, training, and go-live activities.

· Drive adoption through demonstrations, user enablement, and post-implementation support.

· Practice Contribution

· Mentor junior consultants and contribute to reusable templates, accelerators, and best practices.

· Stay current on Microsoft roadmap updates and guide new capabilities.

Required Experience & Skills

· 7+ years of functional consulting experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CE or F&O).

· 3+ years implementing or supporting Project Operations or Project Service Automation (PSA).

· Deep understanding of project accounting, resource management, time/expense, and billing models (fixed-fee, T&M, retainers).

· Strong workshop facilitation, requirements documentation, and solution-design capabilities.

· Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).

· Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

· Microsoft Certifications (MB-920, MB-240, MB-700, or Project Operations Functional Consultant Associate) preferred.
