Commercial Roofing Safety Manager
J Reynolds & Co, a Tecta America Company, is a Saginaw, Texas–based commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor serving clients nationwide. We specialize in commercial roof installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance, offering both traditional systems and sustainable solutions such as solar panels and green roofs. Our experienced team is committed to responsive service, proactive maintenance, and protecting the long‑term performance of our customers’ roof systems.
We are seeking a Safety Manager for our Saginaw, TX shop.
Provide a broad range of hands on support and services in all functional areas relating to Safety including: safety trainings, inspections, and investigations in alignment with the operating unit’s business goals and objectives. The role’s main focus is to create and sustain consistency in Safety compliance while providing new and innovative ideas to help build and promote teamwork, morale and growth.
Job Functions:
- Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for projects assigned.
- Assist with the onboarding process, ensuring that all new hires join the company in a positive and consistent manner across all locations, including a comprehensive introduction to the Tecta Safety Program.
- Identify and implement communication initiatives for managers and employees to increase understanding and commitment to business strategies and programs.
- Inspect facilities, jobsites, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Conduct regular safety audits
- Investigate work related accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
- Report or review findings from accident investigations, facilities/ jobsite inspections, or environmental testing.
- Interview customers and employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidents
- Follow through and follow up to completion of process providing status to OUP
- Maintain & apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and operational processes.
- Conduct or facilitate supervisory and field level training of regional personnel.
- Administer and ensure training policy compliance at the regional level.
- Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
- Conduct meetings with supervisors and employees to discuss such points as the standards, cited violations, lessons learned, and potential hazards and to resolve disputes regarding occupational safety issues.
- Provide new-employee health and safety orientations, and develop materials for these presentations.
- Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in a full‑time Construction Safety role
- 3+ years of experience in Construction Supervision (field‑based)
- OSHA 30‑Hour certification required
- STS‑C, CHST, or CSP safety certifications highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, policies, and procedures
- Working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard office software applications
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate safety policies, instructions, and correspondence effectively with field and office personnel
