Shop Assistant
Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with 8 Divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas Region. ACP produces and delivers concrete and operates Aggregate Quarries that supply concrete batch plants.
The San Antonio Division is seeking a Shop Assistant to provide support to the Shop Supervisor in daily operations. The Shop Assistant will be responsible for managing all inventory, entering data into the maintenance system, and assisting with repairs and general shop duties.Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage and maintain accurate parts inventory levels
- Order, receive, and pick up parts as needed
- Perform computer data entry and recordkeeping
- Assist the Shop Supervisor in overseeing mechanics and daily operations
- Support mechanics with equipment repairs and troubleshooting
- Help schedule equipment for preventative maintenance and repair work
- Provide shuttle support for drivers when required
- Perform general labor duties as needed
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks, equipment, and shop tools
- Computer proficiency, including data entry and basic Excel or inventory software
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow directions and assist multiple team members
- Dependable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Must be able to pass a verification of driving record
- Must be available to start work early mornings
- Ability to lift, move, and carry parts or equipment as needed
