Assistant Credit Manager
Alamo Concrete Products Company, ACP, is headquartered in San Antonio, TX with 8 Divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas Region. ACP produces and delivers concrete and operates Aggregate Quarries that supply aggregates to concrete batch plants. Alamo Transit Company, ATC, is a trucking company that delivers materials primarily to affiliated companies but also to third parties.
We are hiring an Assistant Credit Manager for our Corporate office in San Antonio, Texas. This position will be responsible for supporting the Credit Manager including managing accounts receivable portfolio and collection processes for geographic divisions by ensuring timely collection of overdue balances, maintaining accurate records, monthly reporting, and maintaining strong relationships with divisional management and customers.
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Assist with the review of customer accounts to assess creditworthiness, establish credit limits, and support credit decisions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Manage A/R collections for geographic divisions of ACP and ATC, build relationships with division management and customers, and ensure timely payment of past-due balances.
- Maintain accurate details in the A/R system.Address payment shortages, billing errors, sales tax issues, and credit card disputes.
- Prepare and file lien and bond claims in accordance with Texas Lien Statute.
- Review lockboxes, support daily deposits, and process customer credit card payments.
- Assist with facilitating the resolution of past-due accounts by engaging customers and negotiating repayment terms or settlements when appropriate.
- Maintain customer sales tax certificates and process related adjustments.
- Handle waivers, joint check agreements, and bond documentation.
- Coordinate monthly certified mail processing of lien intent and bond claim processing.
- Assist with managing construction credit documentation, including lien and bond claims, waivers, joint check agreements, and certified mail processing in accordance with Texas Lien Statute requirements.
- Prepare and analyze reports monthly and quarterly reports, including aging reports, bad debts, and DSO.
- Monthly clearing of intra-company A/R balances to complete the month end process.
- Train and provide guidance to credit analysts
- Coordinating account resolution efforts with Division and Sales Managers.
- Assist in developing and maintaining credit policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide support to the Credit Manager and the Credit Administrator.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2-year college degree or equivalent experience and certifications required.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction lien laws required.
- Knowledge of Command Alkon system a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
