Litigation Attorney Insurance Defense & General Liability
A well-established regional law firm with a national footprint is seeking a talented Litigation Attorney to join its growing Houston office. Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Litigation Associate with 3+ years of civil defense experience, particularly in insurance defense, general liability, construction defect, and personal injury . The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing litigation files, handling discovery, and communicating effectively with clients. Deposition or trial experience is a plus, but not required. Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance defense litigation files from intake through resolution
- Handle discovery, motion practice, and pre-trial preparation
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and reports
- Communicate regularly with clients, including detailed litigation reporting
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development
- Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records
- Participate in depositions and hearings (if experienced)
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
- Experience in one or more of the following: general liability, construction, premises liability, personal injury, trucking, or maritime law
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
