Waste Services

Railcar Services
VLS Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance.
Marine Services
VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.
Requirements:Role Summary
Performs preventive/corrective maintenance and installation of equipment in accordance to manufacturer and company specifications on machinery and mechanical equipment to maximize up time on plant.
Job Duties
- Experience with rotating equipment, mechanical seals, equipment troubleshooting. Installs equipment and inspects/repairs mechanical equipment for defects and/or repairs pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, mixers and agitators, rotating equipment alignment and transport trailers.
- Experience working and establishing Preventative Maintenance
- Operation of machinery or mechanisms with inspection
- Understanding and knowledge of Safety Procedures and working in a chemical plant
- General housekeeping in maintenance areas and operating areas using prescribed company
- Perform other duties, as
- Multi-skilled craftsman a plus
- Use specialized tools such as micrometers, calipers, and laser alignment devices to precisely align motors, couplings, shafts, and other equipment to operational requirements
- Operate small crane and man-lift (With proper training)
- Accurately complete and close out work orders in computerized maintenance management systems
- Adhere strictly to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies, including process safety management (PSM), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and regulations from OSHA.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Five (5) years related experience.
- Experience working on all types of rotating equipment including; but not limited to, pumps, seals, gear boxes and diesel engines.
- Lift 50 LBS
