Line Cook - Ninfa's Navigation
Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workstation. This role is essential to delivering high-quality food in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and front-of-house staff
Assist with prep work, restocking, and closing duties as assigned
Work efficiently during peak service periods
Report equipment or food safety issues to kitchen leadership
Qualifications
Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred but not required
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Texas Food Handler certification required or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe after hire
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in hot, fast-paced kitchen conditions
