Journeyman/Master Service Electrician
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman or Master Service Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems in commercial environments. This role involves responding to service calls, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in commercial buildings, including lighting, power distribution, controls, and equipment.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on existing electrical systems.
- Install new wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment as needed during service work.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA safety standards, and Texas state regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly with clients about issues and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Occasionally assist with emergency/on-call service rotations.
Qualifications
- Required: Current Texas Journeyman Electrician license (issued by TDLR) or Master Electrician license.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair within commercial environments (e.g., offices, retail, industrial facilities).
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, including 3-phase power, motors, controls, and PLC basics preferred.
- Proficiency with tools and testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various conditions.
Preferred
- Experience with service vans and managing service calls.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient systems or renewable integrations.
