Salary: 36,000.00 to 42,000.00
Come work as a Family Case Advocate/Forensic Interviewer in our Child Advocacy Program! This position works closely with child victims and their families who have made an outcry of abuse. Help us protect the children of Cooke County!
Forensic Interviewing
o Coordinate, schedule and conduct forensic interviews for children who meet CAC case criteria upon the request from multi-disciplinary team members.
o Successfully complete CACTXs Forensic Interviewing Core Curriculum held in Austin, TX
o Prepare for and testify in court according to CAC protocol standards as needed for investigative purposes.
o Participate in regular peer review and supervisory review sessions in which job proficiency is assessed.
o Stay current on forensic interviewing trends and literature and pursue professional development.
o Participate in overnight & weekend on-call rotation for after-hours forensic interviews.
Family Advocacy
o Provide holistic case management and appropriate referrals to community and victims service programs.
o Educate families on the dynamics of crimes against children, CAC protocols, and criminal court processes.
o Assist clients in applying for Crime Victims Compensation and Protective Orders as needed
o Conduct Mental Health intake appts and refer to appropriate MH servicing
o Accompany families to court hearings when needed.
o Successfully complete CACTXs Family Advocacy Core Curriculum held in Austin, TX
o Attend/Speak at community meetings and interfaces with professionals in the field of child abuse and social services.
o Provide community education to collaborative partner agencies, school districts, and other local non-profits.
Additional Tasks and Requirements:
Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of clients.
Facilitate a collaborative atmosphere between community agencies and multi-disciplinary team members in order to advocate for victims and their rights.
Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training, supervisory sessions, and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships.
Work well in a team environment with a collaborative mindset.
Data entry: services, screenings and assessment documentation.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in social work, criminal justice, or related field with at least 1-year related experience is required.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Experience working with law enforcement, CPS, DAs Office preferred.
Experience working with children and families and knowledge of child abuse issues, preferred.

Vision correctable to 20/20 or sufficient to complete job responsibilities, including color recognition,
Hearing correctable in order to complete job responsibilities.
Salary Range:Competitive. Salary range depends upon a combination of education and experience.
