Assistant General Counsel - Daltile

What we need:
Support the Deputy General Counsel at Daltile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, Inc., to manage and execute Daltile’s various legal matters. This position will be based in Daltile’s corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX. The AGC will work directly with Daltile’s Deputy General Counsel to support the Daltile executive team and the Daltile business units on a regular basis. Additionally, the AGC will also interface with other Mohawk Legal department members and Mohawk Corporate team members as needed, who are based in Mohawk’s headquarters in Georgia.
What you’ll do:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including strategic supply and equipment purchase contracts, sales agreements, sourcing agreements, logistics agreements, consulting agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
- Work with Daltile’s Senior Director of Real Estate and Construction and advise on all real estate matters including leases and real estate sales agreements.
- Support M&A activity that relates directly to Daltile.
- Provide practical legal advice to Daltile employees on contracts, dispute resolution, legal risk and best practices on a variety of topics.
- Review marketing materials, warranties and other internal and external documents for legal compliance.
- Work with internal staff to oversee contract management.
- Identify and implement improvements to contracting processes, including development of form contracts, checklists, contract process flows and business training.
- Complete special assignments at the request of the Daltile DGC, Daltile leadership team, or Mohawk Legal team.
- Stay up to date on developing legal issues.
- Provide analysis of legal and policy issues.
- Work with outside counsel as necessary.
- Perform such other duties as required.
What you have:
- Minimum of JD degree from an accredited law school.
- 6 to 12 years legal experience in top tier law firm or corporate law department. Some in-house experience is preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing, environmental, real estate, international sourcing, and B2B sales is also preferred.
- Ability to provide counsel and guidance on complex legal questions and inquiries.
- Understands business and appreciates the culture that exists within an organization and the reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures.
- Experience working with limited supervision.

- This is an in-office position. Occasional travel is required.
