Maintenance Mechanic
- Performs maintenance, construction, and repair work such as masonry, welding, carpentry, painting, or mechanical work.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment, tools, and buildings. Operates and maintains motorized vehicles and equipment.
- May assist with the preventative maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and utility systems.
- May assist with plumbing; electrical; or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work. May repair equipment and fabricate parts for repairs.
- May maintain records on work orders or projects.
- May perform inspections of operating machinery, equipment, and utility systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Knowledge of the construction, repair, maintenance, and operation of buildings, equipment, and utility systems.
- Skill in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions; to work from drawings, diagrams, or blueprints; and to communicate effectively.
- Must have and maintain a level of general health, which permits the performance of job duties.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work.
- Experience in general motor vehicle maintenance.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- Preferred Education : Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred.
- Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and current and continued proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Must be insurable by the Center’s liability carrier if the employee operates a Center vehicle or drives a personal car on Center business.
