Industrial Journey Electrician and Instrumentation Technician

Clean Harbors is searching for a licensed Journeyman who is a reliable and safety oriented I&E Technician to join our La Porte , TX team! The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Ladder Logic, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed.

Must be a licensed Texas Journeyman Electrician.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions.
• Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations.
• Maintains accurate records and logs as required.
• Installs new system controls (including power wiring).
• Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers.
• Services and replaces motors and lighting.
• Performs general electrical maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

• HS Diploma OR Equivalent required.
• Required - Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
• PLC Ladder Logic troubleshooting and/or programming.
• VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) Programming knowledge preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints, and electronic schematics.
• Proficiency reading process and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs).
• Knowledge of Data Control Systems (DCS).
• Experience with 480v and below.
• Lift up 50lb, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
