Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Vice President to oversee sales and operations for our Texas branches. As the Area Vice President, you will manage and lead a team of insurance professionals, drive business growth, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain excellent client relationships.

How you'll make an impact

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of insurance professionals, including producers.
  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and maximize their potential.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
  • Interview and select new employees.

Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets for your direct reports.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, and actively promote our services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to capitalize on potential opportunities.
  • Assist sales personnel in developing goals and monitor the achievement of those goals throughout the year.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement effective processes and workflows to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess branch performance and take appropriate actions to achieve targets.
  • Ensure the financial, service, and administrative goals of the agency are met and advise regional management of any variances.
  • Oversee and participate in the preparation of branch budgeting and planning, as well as monitor related results.
  • Maintain and coordinate the branch's disaster recovery plan.
  • Ensure that departments complete their operational projects in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate the completion of special projects as requested by corporate.
  • Maintain files for company contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor any material claims that could lead to potential problems and inform the regional manager and/or corporate legal as appropriate of any issues that arise.
  • Monitor any possible errors and omissions claims and advise corporate and regional management of any material issues that arise.
    • May oversee the work of the Branch Manager.
About You

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience required. Understands accepted insurance practices and principles.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in the insurance industry, specifically in wholesale insurance brokerage.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent business development and sales capabilities, with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, risk assessment, and industry regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in insurance software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
