Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames. Participates in projects to improve overall process and technical efficience.

What You'll Do

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot optical test and splice equipment, including calibration and minor repairs.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and employees on installation, splicing, and testing of optical networks.
• Manage equipment and warehouse operations, including inventory tracking (Salesforce), shipments, check-in procedures, and tool accountability.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant lab and warehouse environment.
• Support daily Field Engineering operations and provide phone assistance to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Excel and general PC applications.
• Solid mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Results-driven, customer-focused, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Experiences/Education

• High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent experience
• Associates degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Physics or equivalent experience (Preferred)
• 4 years of technical experience in the Telecommunications industry.
• 2 years of experience with Corning optical products and components

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time

• Monday – Friday, standard business hours
• Willingness to work outside of normal scheduled business hours when necessary

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%

The range for this position is $59,089.00 - $81,248.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
