Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining a safe work environment across both field and office settings. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and working closely with operations and executive leadership, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs and initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by reducing workplace incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance, and empowering employees at all levels to take ownership of safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage corporate safety policies, programs, and initiatives in alignment with OSHA and industry regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and trend analyses to identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.
- Lead investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Design and deliver safety training programs for leaders, supervisors, and field employees.
- Provide expert guidance to operations leadership on safety compliance and strategies to enhance safety culture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, promoting engagement and accountability in safety practices across the organization.
- Analyze safety data to prepare reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations highlighting trends, compliance status, and risk exposure.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership accountability, employee engagement, and effective communication.
- Identify and drive measurable improvements in key safety performance indicators.
- Establish, update, and conduct safety program orientation and training for new and current employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational safety objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or a related field required.
- 7+ years of progressive safety experience, preferably in commercial services or manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience in improving safety key performance indicators.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations; OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends and drive data-driven improvements.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to engage both leaders and frontline employees.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and foster a positive safety culture.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within Houston and other major metropolitan locations in Texas.
- Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred.
