Fabrication Machinist

The Fabrication Machinist supports the day-to-day operations in Hilti’s Value-Added Service Center (VASC) with the manufacturing and assembly of standard and custom customer orders. Duties include set up and operating horizontal bandsaw and industrial equipment to cut threaded rod, strut, and other materials to customer and internal quality specifications. The machine operator performs required quality and maintenance checks and minor/routine equipment maintenance as needed. Assists with assembly and prefabrication of product for customer orders.

What You'll do

• Follow standard processes to build and produce standard and custom products to define specifications in production paperwork and project documentation.
• Perform product modifications and product packaging to PBL (Project Business Logistics) specifications.
• Execute defined quality and maintenance checks and participate in minor equipment maintenance as needed.
• Material handling tasks associated with working in a production-type environment.
• Package and stage completed product for shipment.
• Maintain active equipment spare parts inventory.
• Keep work area, tools, and equipment organized and in working order.
• Actively engage and contribute to department continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, read and convert between decimals and fractions, and use basic calculator.
• Intermediate mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and drawings.
• Basic computer skills required; SAP experience, preferred.
• Forklift certification required (will provide training once hired, if needed).
