ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Tyler, Texas 75701 (East Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Unit: Medical-Surgical ICU (16 beds, 12 rooms)
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 – End: 12/8/2025)
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 shifts per 6-week period)
• Orientation: 36 hours onsite
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,620 - $1,660

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Active RN license valid in Texas
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I or II Trauma experience preferred
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Demonstrate compassion and sensitivity to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients
• Efficiently manage department and patient activities to ensure organized care delivery
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and colleagues
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Perform advanced ICU nursing skills, including ventilator management, arterial and central line care, blood product administration, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Participate in orientation modules and ongoing clinical training
