Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our FPS facility in Houston, TX 77060 , offering $30.00/hour on a 12-month contract with potential temp-to-perm opportunity . In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment used in poly pipe manufacturing to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of industrial electrical/electronic maintenance experience , with strong hands-on expertise in PLC, HMI, VFD, and control systems , and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair equipment used in poly pipe production operations
- Support the installation, upgrades, and inspections of control systems to improve performance and reliability
- Perform emergency troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and restore operations efficiently and safely
- Prepare detailed reports on machine faults and assist in developing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
- Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve uptime and operational efficiency
Essential Requirements (Experience / Skills / Competencies)
- Hands-on experience with PLC, HMI, VFD, control electronics, or CNC controls
- Strong mechanical aptitude with automation systems
- Ability to safely disassemble, diagnose, and reassemble industrial equipment
- Solid understanding of predictive maintenance concepts and diagnostic tools
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to support operational decisions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial electrical/electronic repair environment
- Proven experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems
