Technical Product Owner
Description
Are you looking for an influential Product Owner role in a technology company building mission-critical applications? Do you want to shape the mobile user experience for field professionals? If yes, we’d love to talk!
About Us:
American Innovations is a technology leader providing critical software solutions and services to support our nation’s infrastructure in the energy space. Our cutting-edge technology solutions include mobile, IoT, and SaaS platforms for field data collection and operations.
What you will be doing:
As Technical Product Owner for Mobile, you will lead the vision, planning, and execution of our mobile offerings including FDC, Bullhorn FieldPro Mobile, and CartoPac Mobile. You’ll drive our Agile processes, prioritize backlogs, and ensure high-value delivery to our internal and external customers.
You will be the linchpin between field user needs, business priorities, and the development team—translating insights into actionable requirements and innovative enhancements.
You will facilitate scrum ceremonies, maintain transparency on feature releases, and collaborate across R&D and customer-facing teams. You’ll consistently champion user-centered design and help influence positive change, efficiency, and quality across every release of our mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Own and prioritize the mobile application development backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to maximize customer and business value.
- Gather and synthesize user and business requirements for FDC, Bullhorn FieldPro Mobile, and CartoPac Mobile.
- Facilitate all agile ceremonies for the mobile team, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, retrospectives, and daily standups.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, QA, support, and product managers for seamless mobile app releases.
- Maintain continuous communication with users and field teams to gather feedback and drive requirements refinement.
- Proactively monitor application health using error logs, support cases, and analytics; prioritize defects, enhancements, and technical debt as needed.
- Lead Support Acceptance Testing, provide release notes and documentation training for support and customer success teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure a consistent mobile experience across all products.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to improve backlog management, feature design, and support processes.
- Keep abreast of emerging mobile technology trends and continually seek opportunities for feature innovation.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or another recognized Product Owner/Product Management certification.
- 4+ years of experience in software product ownership, preferably in mobile applications or technical domains.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and product management practices.
- Proven ability to translate customer and business needs into technical requirements for development teams.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar product management/development tracking solutions.
- Knowledge of mobile application design, development cycles, and release management practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with AI-powered product management or software development tools is a plus.
- Ability to synthesize complex information, prioritize effectively, and maintain focus on delivering value.
- Passion for improving the user experience for field professionals and driving continuous product improvement.
What we can offer you:
- Competitive Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance
- Company Provided Life and Disability Insurance
- Paid Family Leave
- Matching 401k
- Supportive and collaborative work environment
- A rewarding culture with a focus on positive business practices and protecting the environment
