Accounting Student Assistant

Position Summary:

Assists with updating financial and business transactions data, supports Finance department with administrative tasks, and helps prepare reports to ensure accurate accounting records.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist with ad hoc reports and other projects

• Assist with administrative accounting duties

• Update/prepare various financial spreadsheets

• Prepare journal entries

• Assist with quarter-end close and year-end close

• Data mining and analysis

• Maintain familiarity with strategic District levels of service

• Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts

• Perform other duties as required

Required Experience:

• Less than one (1) year of experience

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Desired Experience:

• Accounting experience in an office environment

Required Education/Certification/License:

• Junior or Senior working towards an Accounting Degree

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid Texas driver's license
