Structural Engineer (PE) – Forensic Engineering
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to perform forensic investigations and evaluations of residential, commercial, industrial, and marine structures.
Responsibilities
- Investigate structural failures and property damage caused by wind, water, fire, earth movement, construction defects, and other events.
- Conduct field inspections and document existing conditions.
- Analyze structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, roofing, and building envelopes.
- Review drawings, calculations, and construction documents.
- Prepare technical reports, repair recommendations, and cause-and-origin analyses.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, attorneys, and code officials.
- Manage multiple projects and travel as needed.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (ABET accredited).
- Texas PE license required.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Knowledge of ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, and related codes.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Forensic, litigation support, or expert witness experience is a plus.
