Focus: Driving platform innovation and shaping the future of application development within the organization, leveraging GitLab and GitOps as key enablers.

• Define and champion the vision for the application platform, aligning it with the organization's strategic goals and technology roadmap.
• Lead the exploration and adoption of new technologies and architectural patterns to enhance the platform's capabilities and developer experience.
• Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration between SRE and development teams, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the broader cloud-native community by sharing best practices, contributing to open-source projects, and participating in industry events.
• Champion the use of GitLab and GitOps as core components of the organization's cloud-native strategy.
• Lead the exploration and adoption of advanced GitOps techniques and tools to further enhance platform capabilities and developer experience.

Requirements

GCP Skills:

• Deep understanding of industry trends in cloud-native application development and platform engineering.
• Ability to identify and evaluate new technologies and their potential to improve the platform and developer experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence and inspire others.
• Deep understanding of GitLab's architecture and its potential for integration with other cloud-native technologies.
• Ability to identify and evaluate new GitOps tools and techniques to improve platform efficiency and security.
• Expert-level understanding of zero-trust principles and their application in a cloud-native environment. This includes in-depth knowledge of GCP's advanced security tools and services, such as Access Context Manager, IAP, PAM, Private Service Connect, VPC Service Controls, VPC Peering, and Google Cloud's SecOps framework.
  

Required Certifications:

• Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification as a foundational requirement.
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD): Focuses on deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.
