PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Sales Executive is expected to leverage their industry knowledge and relationship-building skills to secure the specification and application of our client's products within their assigned territory. This will drive sustained volume and sales growth across both the territory and the broader region.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Identifying target accounts and understanding regional and client needs early on, driving early client engagement and positioning
- Specifying our client's products in core institutional and other pertinent market segments within the territory
- Using and optimizing the company's client relationship management (CRM) tool as a primary communication medium
- Understanding, categorizing, prioritizing, and managing clients while maintaining trusted client relationships
- Developing new business in core segments with key decision makers
- Developing new relationships with End Users, General Contractors, Architects, and Interior Designers
- Maintaining current Flooring Contractors accounts and collaborating with local teams for successful installation of materials
- Understanding and analyzing the competition for successful outcomes in territory
- Working closely with and communicating effectively to internal teams
- Developing a clear understanding of what matters to clients and providing solutions to exceed client needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or related discipline preferred but not required
- 4+ years of related business development experience in the construction industry preferred but not required
- Proficient in managing larger projects with longer sales cycles, in both public and private sectors
- Strong presentation and active listening skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to get in front of customers and understand their needs through a consultative sales process
- Must be comfortable selling technical aspects of products
- Must be able to travel the entire territory on an as-needed basis, and yearly in North America for sales meetings and trainings
- Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management and staff in a fast-paced environment while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively
- Must thrive on building lasting customer relationships that develop into sales and growth in the territory
- Be an active, engaged team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, contributing positively to regional and national sales results

- Must be able to carry and wheel samples and materials when meeting with customers; requires some lifting and bending on a routine basis
- Ability to visually inspect a flooring surface, which may require crawling on a flooring surface
