Maritime Propulsion and Handling Intern (Summer 2026)

An incredible opportunity awaits you as a Maritime Propulsion & Handling Intern!

As a Maritime Propulsion & Handling Intern you will be responsible for supporting propulsion & handling systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime in the office. This includes working with azimuth thrusters, tunnel thrusters, controllable pitch propellers, waterjets, and other propulsion systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime. This is a fast-track technical position that will give you an opportunity to learn new skills in exciting maritime applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the ability to work on numerous Kongsberg Maritime’s Propulsion & Handling systems
  • Support the Technical team with equipment assembly/testing
  • Execute projects assignments from Project Managers and Technical Advisors
  • Read and interpret drawings and mechanical system architecture
  • Use of tools for troubleshooting hydraulic/mechanical problems.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in mechanical, marine or mechatronic engineering.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks using hands and tools.
  • Knowledge of general computer skills.
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
  • Customer service oriented

Work Hours

Monday – Friday, 7 am – 4 pm
