JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer well programs and recommend liner hanger configurations suitable for each application. Each well requires a different plan and configuration.
  • Modify or adjust tool assemblies and job plans to accommodate changing well conditions or customer requirements.
  • Work closely with operations and workshop teams to ensure all equipment is prepared accurately, on schedule, and within quality standards.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for field service personnel and customers, ensuring flawless execution at the wellsite.
  • Analyze job performance data and provide operational engineering feedback to improve consistency and success rates.
  • Support troubleshooting and post-job review to identify improvement opportunities in process or configuration.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, work instructions, and customer communication records.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational readiness, equipment optimization, and customer satisfaction.
  • This position operates in a dynamic workshop and field-support environment. The Field Service Engineer collaborates and supervises with technicians, operations, and field crews to meet customer demands and ensure flawless job delivery.
  • The role may include mentoring or coordinating small teams of technical staff in preparation, testing, and execution activities.
  • Ensure equipment inventory levels to ensure that utilization is acceptable
  • Ensure the fleet of fixed assets (rental and service tools) to ensure adequate utilization and proper maintenance
  • Make operational decisions that are consistent with the Completion Tools Values and will result in total customer satisfaction
  • Financial authority within the Delegation of Authority for operational expenses, capital expenditures, as well as purchase of inventory
  • Ensuring staffing levels of the organization to ensure personnel utilization is acceptable
  • Travel to field jobs domestically to perform installation
  • Understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and the ability to adapt to earn appropriate profitability by job and by district
  • All other ad-hoc requests

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, or Industrial required).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in completions, liner hangers, or well engineering.
  • Strong understanding of wellbore dynamics, cementing practices, and completion design.
  • Must have experience executing liner hanger installations in the field (10+ installations).
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt solutions to varying operational and customer requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies, and government regulations
  • Extensive product specific technical skills
  • Knowledge of wellbore hydraulics and tubing movement calculations
  • Knowledge of basic shop equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of Pipe tally, fluid displacement and other downhole tool calculations
  • Skilled with installation of completions and liner systems
  • Skilled in understanding engineering drawings
  • Skilled in completions, liner hanger and workover tool field operations
  • Strong strategic leadership and managerial skills

HSE Requirements:

  • Shop environment orientation (exits, fire extinguishers, first aid & eyewash stations, spill kits, propane storage) and yard environment (building locations, processes);
  • Standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching, and walking (further details to be reviewed on JHA);
  • All applicable Field Service on-site ticket requirement as per HSE Manager and client requirements;
  • Strong safety leadership and a proven record of commitment to fulfilling all safety documentation requirements and duties;
  • PPE training for possible noise exposure, mists/vapors, gloves, safety glasses and steel toed boots;
