Junior Software Engineer (Sheild AI/Frisco)

A Junior Software Engineer job in Frisco, TX is currently available at Belcan. We are seeking skilled engineers with 0-3 years of experience who are eager to grow their software development and automation skills. Job Summary

• Work alongside experienced engineers to support verification, validation and automated testing activities.
• Contribute to software quality initiatives throughout the development lifecycle.
• Gain hands-on experience with Python, Linux, CI/CD, automation frameworks, and complex software systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and infrastructure
• Develop and maintain Python and shell-based automation scripts
• Execute regression, integration, system, and functional testing
• Analyze logs, telemetry, and test results to identify defects
• Support CI/CD test integration efforts
• Assist with HITL and SITL testing activities
• Support software release and qualification testing
• Collaborate with software, systems, and integration teams
• Participate in lab activities, demonstrations, and field testing support

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• 0-3 years of experience including internships, co-ops, military service, research, or academic projects
• Working knowledge of Python or similar programming language
• Familiarity with Linux and source control tools such as Git
• Understanding of software testing and debugging fundamentals
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship or project experience in software development or automation
• Exposure to robotics, aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or embedded software
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps concepts
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one

Compensation: We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $75,000 to $110,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
