Mechanical Technician, James Lake Plant
As a Mechanical Technician, James Lake Plant you will work independently and with others to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. You will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. - Performing maintenance, repairs, and PMs on engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary)
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and PMs on pumps, fin fans, and general plant equipment
- Ensuring the safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines
- Overseeing Contract Maintenance personnel on site
- Complying with company policies, procedures and directives
- Performing required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Identifying maintenance work and initiating work requests using Maintenance Programs such as Maximo and SAP
- Driving a company owned vehicle within assigned area
- Training less experienced employees and overseeing the work of contract personnel
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems with Plant equipment
- Providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance
- Maintain all required operations and safety training including required Operator Qualifications for DOT covered tasks

- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- Must be willing and able to reside and respond to a call out within 1 hour of the assigned work location
- Willing and able perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:
- Climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to perform maintenance on equipment as part of this position
- Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds
- Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain
- Work outside in harsh weather conditions
- Work alone a high percentage of the time
- Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime on an as-needed basis
- Work a rotating on call schedule for your assigned area
- Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe boots, ear, head, and eye protection
- 1 or more years maintenance/mechanical experience in oil and gas or related industry
- 3 or more years of centrifugal pump experience
- 3 or more years direct experience with reading troubleshooting manuals and drawings
- 3 or more years of direct experience with Caterpillar 3500 and Waukesha VHP engine maintenance and repair
- 3 or more years of direct experience with Ariel compressor maintenance and overhaul
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and SAP maintenance programs
- A sound knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA, Process Safety
This position has a base salary range of $81,000 - $123,200.
