Veterinary Technician

Austin Urban Vet Center is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working veterinary technician to join our team. This is a full-time position. We're looking for someone who wants to join our team and become part of the Austin Urban Vet Center family. This makes for a bustling and interactive work environment!

• Exceptional multitasking ability.
• Essential technical skills: run labwork, proper restraint, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement.
• Administer medicines to pets as needed.
• Keep up-to-date and accurate notes for all pets in our care.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the entire operation.
• Enter notes into the computer system.
• Communicate effectively, politely, and with high levels of customer service with clients and co-workers. We consider our clients to be a part of our family and we want them to feel welcomed and loved every time they visit.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Friendly and hard-working attitude.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Follow all safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and medicine.
• Ability to be on your feet for multiple hours at a time.
• Acknowledging that our client's pets are their children and should be handled with extreme caution and care.
• Willingness to help- PC proficient.
• Can't be afraid of poop and pee.
• Flexibility Preferred.

Hours:

• The position requires working a mix of opening and closing shifts.
• The position also requires working some Saturdays.
• Some holiday shifts are required.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Pulse software.
• Previous animal care experience.

Other:

• Applicants must consent to and pass a thorough background check and drug screening test.
• First 90 days will be a probationary period.
