AR Collections Specialist
Position Overview
This position will be responsible for customer balances, collections and assisting with the credit process. This includes credit reviews of new and existing customers with the goal of minimizing bad debt losses and optimizing company sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Gain and maintain a working knowledge of Offen Petroleum's collection and credit process
- Outreach to customers with overdue balances, via calling and email
- Work with customers to provide necessary information and come to solutions for promise to pay
- Work with other departments including sales, billing and customer success, to address billing issues impacting collections
- Keep detailed notes for each outreach interaction so the team has a specific up-to-date view of each customer situation
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Other duties and cross train as assigned
Required/Preferred Education & Experience
- Associates degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 2 or more years of collections experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Office and accounting software
- Understanding of B2B collection rules and procedures
- AR or Billing experience and/or competency
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Effective communicator in both oral and written form
- NetSuite experience a plus

Working Environment and Physical Demands
Work is performed in a standard office environment with frequent local travel. Requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary; may regularly require the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift 80+ lbs. with assistance.
