Somewhere in rural Texas, a bank president is trying to figure out how to offer the same mobile experience as Chase while running a team of twelve people. In small-town Oklahoma, a compliance officer is buried in manual processes that eat up hours she could spend actually helping customers. Across America, community banks are fighting to survive against giants with unlimited tech budgets.

That's where you come in.

At IBT Apps, we build the technology that levels the playing field. Our core banking solutions, digital platforms, and payment systems power community banks across the US, and we're about to change the game with IBT ONE , our unified platform launching in February 2026. We need a Product Owner who doesn't just manage backlogs but genuinely cares about building something that matters.

What You'll Actually Do

You'll own the product vision for your area and make it real. That means:

  • Spending real time with bankers to understand what's actually slowing them down (not what they think they want, but what they actually need)
  • Translating messy, complex banking workflows into clean product requirements that developers can build against
  • Making tough prioritization calls when everything feels urgent (because in banking, it usually does)
  • Shepherding features from napkin sketch to production release, then measuring whether they actually moved the needle
  • Being the person who can explain a technical constraint to a frustrated banker and a regulatory requirement to a confused developer, all in the same afternoon
  • Keeping an eye on what competitors are doing and making sure we stay ahead of the curve

You won't be a ticket-taker. You'll be a strategic partner to leadership, a champion for our clients, and the person who makes sure we're building the right things in the right order.

Who You Are

You've spent time in banking. Maybe you worked at a bank, maybe you sold to them, maybe you implemented software for them. Either way, you know the difference between a wire and an ACH, you understand why compliance isn't optional, and you've seen firsthand how technology can either save a banker's day or ruin it.

You're a translator. You can sit in a room with a 30-year banking veteran and a 25-year-old developer and make sure they both walk out understanding each other. You write user stories that are actually useful, not just checkboxes.

You're comfortable with ambiguity. You don't need someone to hand you a perfect spec. You can wade into a murky problem, ask the right questions, and emerge with clarity.

You care about the outcome, not the credit. You want to ship things that work. You'd rather have a successful product than a fancy title.

The Specifics

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years in banking, fintech, or financial services (operations, compliance, technology, or implementation)
  • 3+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst
  • Track record of writing clear requirements and working effectively with development teams
  • Strong communication skills (you'll be presenting to clients, executives, and engineers)
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities without losing your mind

Bonus points for:

  • Experience specifically with community banks (under $500M in assets)
  • Hands-on experience with core banking systems, digital banking, or payments
  • Background in software implementation or professional services
