PROGRAM MONITOR

City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Program Monitor to perform and oversee the operations of youth development programs or recreational programs and activities. The Program Monitor position earns competitive pay of $9.98/hr . A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROGRAM MONITOR

As a Program Monitor, you spend your day being part of community events. Your work typically involves coordinating youth activities and field trips, assisting in interdepartmental and citywide events. Your job is essential to the city, and you perform administrative functions and public relations, assist in promoting and registering clients for programs and manage maintenance work orders. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include coordinating events and programs, gathering appropriate materials for activities, provide tutoring and mentoring for the youth and teen members. When you are not out in the city, you generally assisting with teaching programs or classes and maintain parks or club spaces and facilities in good condition. You also ensure to conduct safety inspections of locations and equipment used by program participants. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in operations of youth programming, recreational activities, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROGRAM MONITOR

  • Required Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalency
  • Required Work Experience: No experience required.
    • Experience Preference: Preferred some professional work experience in the Parks & Recreation field or equivalent.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
  • Required CPR/First Aide Certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
